Zeila Wallace

Yuku-Baja-Muliku Traditional Owner/Ranger

I was born in cairns and grew up in Wujal Wujal Community. I am the youngest of my siblings. My Mother is from the Yalanji Warra Clan group and my Father is from the Nugal Warra Clan group.

I am now married and have a lovely little family.

I am a contemporary indigenous artist I enjoy painting and have now been painting since 2010 professionally. However, growing up I loved painting and drawing and I would sit and paint alongside my dad.

Most of my paintings are of our traditional and spiritual beliefs and stories that have been told to me by my families.

I also paint animals and our traditional bush tucker, which comes from our Traditional Country because they are a part of who I am as a person.
